How did my passion for triathlon start?
I wasn't always an active person. After a Super Motard accident in April 2009 I was left with a trimalleolar fracture and had to have surgery. During my rehabilitation, I was told that I would probably never be able to apply full pressure to my leg ever again! My daughter, who was 5 years old at the time gainfully requested me to "chase" her down the Strand one afternoon and that's when I decided it's time to get moving again. Welcome to the world of swim, bike, run - triathlon. Once I saw what I could do with a stronger, fitter body, I was hooked.
Since starting this journey, I have competed in international and national events;
Represented Australia in 2011 at Beijing World Championships
Age Group Champion for North Qld Series in 2012
Completed multiple IRONMAN and 70.3 events
Represented Australia in 2018 at Gold Coast World Championships
1st place National AG Champion 2019 Aquathlon (3rd overall)
3rd place National AG Champion 2019 Duathlon (6th overall)
My aim is to still qualify for Kona in this lifetime!
I am based in Townsville, North Queensland. Sometimes my tri adventures are just a short drive away, but other times, they involve exhausting flights to national or international locations. I look forward to sharing not only my tri adventures, but the conditioning and training that keeps me fit and ready. Join me and be a part of the journey!
I currently compete as an athlete plus I offer coaching services for any level of athlete from newbie to pro. I have experience in all distances and can offer support and plans that cater to this. I do however like to draw from my own OD and IM experiences.
I am a Triathlon Australia Accredited performance Coach and I love seeing amazing results from people who never believed they could achieve!
